Building Routes to Connect
The FM 110 North roadway project (from IH 35 to SH 80) includes the design of a 6-mile,
4-lane divided rural highway schematic, with an interim 2-lane rural PS&E design. This project provides an essential alternative north/south route for Hays County residents, relieving congestion on IH 35. LJA, in collaboration with Hays County, meticulously planned and executed this critical corridor, which opened in late 2023. This North segment marks the third and final part of the San Marcos Loop, a project long championed by Hays County Commissioner Debbie Ingalsbe.
LJA’s team of experts adeptly navigated numerous challenges, including elevated structures near the San Marcos Airport, a railroad crossing, and highly expansive soils.
More Than a Roadway
The FM 110 North project offers a safe alternative to IH 35 while also spurring economic growth in the region. As one of the fastest-growing counties in the country, Hays County will benefit immensely from enhanced transportation infrastructure. The FM 110 North project is a testament to this, attracting major players like Amazon and Tesla, as well as large residential subdivisions. These developments are already leveraging Hays County’s forward-thinking investments to build a prosperous future.
